Gardening and a Good Movie
The heat is here and in full force. I saw one day recently that the thermometer said 80 in the shade and 109.4 in the sun. The humidity is terrible. It might as well be raining! And just as the heat is arriving Mom is hitting the garden hard. We have not done as much so far as we had done this time last year. But we do have: potatoes, carrots, lettuce, spinach, onions, garlic, lots of herbs, broccoli, and cabbage. We have had soooo much rain this spring that it has delayed our garden planting, but Mom is determined that we will catch up so that is what we have been working on all today. We planted 30 tomato plants, six rows of peas, and some radishes. That does not sound like a lot but when you think about hoeing the rows and not to mention all of the rocks!! So now Mom is cooking hamburgers, fried potatoes, and baked beans. And today we got "Tuck Everlasting" from Netflix. So I am going to try and get Hattie to watch it with me. If you have not seen it you really should, it is a cool movie. Here are some pictures from the movie.
