Part of My Bible Study. Part III

I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.  Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

More Pictures From My New Camera!

Hot!!

Yesterday it was 107 degrees in the shade and 80 degrees inside.  Our air conditioner had a time of it keeping up!  Not to mention we still don't have any rain!  And there is still no rain in the forecast.  Mom has put 2,500 gallons of water on her garden in the past two days, but the plants are still dieing of heat!  Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Arkansas!  Lol!

Aren't They Cute!

What I've Been Doing Lately.

I've been taking LOTS of pictures with my new camera!!  I love it!  It's sooo beautiful, I never would of dreamed how pretty the red would be.  So far I've taken about 1,000 pictures.  One of my favorite things about it is how fast the shutter speed is.  So without further to-do, some of the pictures I've taken so far.

Happy Birthday, Grant!!

I hope you had the best birthday ever!  You are such a great friend and I always have a lot of fun with you, no matter what we're up to!  I hope that this next year brings lots of fun memories for you!

Warning: May Contain Blood

Yesterday was Chicken Killin' Day.  Each year us and the K's buy chicks and take turns raising them to butcher, and then we split up the meat and freeze it.  As you may already know butchering anything means blood, so if that bothers you, you may not want to look at the rest of these random pictures of our day.
Half-way through the day I gave my finger a good slice; up until then my friend Brielyn and I had been doing the neck-slicing and the scalding.  (For those of you who don't know about butchering chickens, you first must cut their neck, then dip them a certain number of times in very hot water.  Then you pluck the feathers off and rip their little guts out and freeze them.)  Where was I?  Oh yes, scalding and neck cutting.  So half-way through the day I sliced open my finger, not too deep, but it did bleed like crazy!  Once we got the bleeding stopped and the cut covered, I was resigned to scalding.  Because it takes two hands to hold the chicken's neck and to slice its neck open.  All in all it was a great day with a new record!  120 chickens processed and frozen!!  With 14 people helping and a total of about seven hours.  They day ended in delicious pizza, thanks Nikki and Hattie!  So, now it is time for the pictures.

Getting ready for action!

Setting up.

Yay!  The first chickens!
