A Beautiful Spring!

Well, as much as I don't want it, spring is in the air.  Some of the daffodils are already dead.  That's a bad sign.  We have had many ticks attempt to make us and our dogs lunch already!  Hank says that we are going to have to rage chemical war-fare this year.  Usually we can make it pretty naturally but I think that this year might be an exception.  We had our first calf of the year.  He is beautiful and coal black!  Just like his daddy.  Reagan is growing like a weed.  She does not know how big she is because she keeps trying to get up in my lap but does not fit!  But that does not seem to stop her!  As spring approaches our small farm jumps to life with preperation mostly for the garden.  Which is going to be about   square feet again this year.  Mostly thanks to my mom who continuously works on it during the summer, fall and spring.  Lilly and Reagan are feeling really innergetic lately.  And Lilly is finally getting used to having another dog around.  Dad, Hank and Harris have made us another chicken pen.  Soon we will have 125 chicks on their way to our house.  These will be our meat chickens.  Once a year us and our friends the K's will order many meat chickens together and one of us, we trade houses each year, will keep them.  Then when the time comes we will butcher them ourselves.  It is a really fun time and I enjoy it a lot.  So much is happening on our little farm.  That is one thing that I love about spring, the business.  So much starts going on in the spring.  It's like the world is coming to life with green joy!  Oh, and did I mention that my hyacinths are  blooming?  I just love hyacinths!!!  They have to be the most wonderful smelling flower in the world!!  Not to mention their good looks!

Meet Jethro.  Harris's new calf.

Dogs, *rolls eyes*  So funny.

Pulling up a stump.

Hank, working on the new chicken pen.

Nothing keeps children as entertained as side walk chalk.  So much fun for them.

And last but certainly not least, my hyacinths.
